Lead Packaging Engineer Technology Services | Warrington Full Time on Site We are seeking an experienced Lead Packaging Engineer to take ownership of the end-to-end application packaging lifecycle across physical and virtual Windows desktop environments. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on defining standards, improving efficiency, ensuring compliance, and driving quality across application packaging and deployment. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Own and manage the full packaging lifecycle (discovery → testing → UAT → production).</li><li>Define and enforce packaging standards, QA controls, and documentation requirements.</li><li>Ensure consistency across physical and virtual Windows desktop estates.</li><li>Maintain and optimise packaging and deployment toolsets.</li><li>Drive process improvements and team efficiencies.</li><li>Support complex packaging requirements and strategic deployment decisions.</li><li>Manage application lifecycle control (version currency, retirement, licensing compliance).</li><li>Collaborate with Architecture, PMO, operational teams and business stakeholders.</li><li>Lead and support team members in delivering high-quality packages within SLA.</li></ul>Skills & Experience<ul><li>Strong experience in Windows application packaging (physical & VDI environments).</li><li>Experience with MDM technologies for software deployment.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of Windows desktop OS and Microsoft client technologies.</li><li>Active Directory & Group Policy expertise.</li><li>Experience with profile management tools.</li><li>Scripting capability (e.g. PowerShell).</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.</li><li>Experience working within ITIL processes.</li><li>Excellent stakeholder communication skills.</li></ul>We are looking for a proactive, methodical technical leader who can balance hands-on delivery with process ownership and continuous improvement.
