Their products and services are used across 15 million homes and commercial properties worldwide. The business is now scaling its AI engineering function and is looking for a senior leader to shape how the function is built, run, and developed over the long term.
The Role
This is a Senior AI Engineering Lead position sitting above three active AI engineering teams working on knowledge curation, conversational AI, and platform engineering. You will own the technical direction, quality standards, and people development across a growing team of AI engineers, combining hands-on technical leadership with genuine people responsibility without losing touch with the work itself.

The Role
This is a Senior AI Engineering Lead position sitting above three active AI engineering teams working on knowledge curation, conversational AI, and platform engineering. You will own the technical direction, quality standards, and people development across a growing team of AI engineers, combining hands-on technical leadership with genuine people responsibility without losing touch with the work itself.
What You Will Be Doing
- Leading and mentoring a team of 5 AI engineers across multiple product squads, each with different technical profiles and delivery pressures
- Setting standards for how AI systems are built, evaluated, and deployed across the function
- Bridging the gap between business requirements and technical execution, working closely with product and engineering leadership
- Driving evaluation frameworks, experimentation workflows, and long-term AI roadmap decisions
- Supporting hiring and onboarding as the team continues to grow
- Staying close to developments in LLMs, agentic systems, and orchestration tooling and feeding that into strategic decisions
- 5 or more years of experience in data science, machine learning or software engineering, with recent hands-on work in AI engineering and LLM systems
- Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph or LangChain
- Strong Python skills and cloud experience across Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Experience with model evaluation, monitoring, and building robust ML pipelines
- Familiarity with agentic system design, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering
- Some experience leading or mentoring engineers, whether formally or informally
- C1 German and Business fluent English essential
- Up to €140,000 depending on experience
- 30 days holiday
- Hybrid working with up to 50% remote
