Data Product Owner
London (Hybrid)
Xcede are working with a long-established specialist insurer who are investing heavily in their data capabilities and looking for a Data Product Owner to join their growing Data & Analytics function.
They have around 150 people in London and a global footprint, and use data across the business. Data is a key focus area for them right now, with strong backing from technology leadership.
The role
You will take product ownership of the data platform, working across data engineering, analytics and the wider business to make sure data is reliable, well structured and genuinely useful. You will help shape priorities, improve how data flows through the organisation and support how insight is delivered and consumed by different teams.
What you’ll be doing
• Own and evolve the data platform from source through to presentation across the business
• Work closely with data engineers, analysts and architects to understand needs and turn them into clear data requirements
• Shape and manage the backlog to focus on the most valuable data and reporting work
• Support improvements in how data is modelled, governed and maintained
• Help enhance dashboards, reports and self-service analytics for stakeholders
• Act as a point of contact for data queries and support continuous improvement in insight
What you’ll bring
• Experience working in a data focused or technical environment
• Good understanding of modern data platforms, ideally including Azure and related services
• Comfortable working with SQL and familiar with scripting or analytical tools such as Python or R
• Exposure to BI or data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Ability to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders
• A product mindset with an interest in how data can drive better decisions
• Curiosity about how AI and new tools can add value
Why join
They place a strong emphasis on culture and building an enjoyable working environment. There is real investment in learning and development, with support for courses and certifications, and a track record of people building long careers in the business. The benefits package includes private medical cover, car allowance and a personal benefits allowance.
Salary for this role is up to £70,000 + bonus. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is unavailable.
