The Role
An UK health organisation is looking to engage two experienced Data Consultants with deep Cerner (Oracle Health) expertise to support the remediation of data pipeline performance issues within their data warehouse environment. This is a mainly remote role, with occasional site visits required for equipment collection and periodic stakeholder meetings.
Two positions are available on a staggered start basis, with one Consultant required from 17th August and the second joining approximately two weeks later.

Day to day, you will focus on identifying and resolving performance issues and broader problems affecting data pipelines. You will bring a strong problem solving mindset alongside hands on DBA skills to diagnose and remediate performance bottlenecks. You will also work closely with stakeholders across the Trust to gather and clarify requirements, so strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and remediate performance issues across data pipelines and warehouse processes
  • Apply DBA level expertise in performance tuning to resolve underlying data issues
  • Support and advise on data architecture and data structure decisions
  • Ensure alignment with NHS national submission requirements and data dictionaries
  • Gather and translate requirements from stakeholders across the Trust
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of Cerner (Oracle Health) data
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working within the NHS
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Strong DBA knowledge, particularly performance tuning
  • Solid understanding of data architecture and data structures
  • Working knowledge of NHS national submissions and data dictionaries
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering skills
Working Arrangements
  • Mainly remote, with occasional site visits required for laptop collection and possible in-person meetings
  • No security clearance require
  • Two positions available, staggered start dates (17th August and approx. two weeks later)
