Business Analyst – Media Technology
£400–£500 per day | Outside IR35
Initial 4–5 month contract
Hybrid – London | 1–2 days per week onsite

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in media technology and post-production workflows to join a major UK broadcaster and global content business.

The media and post-production landscape is evolving rapidly, with cloud-based workflows, AI tooling and new approaches to media asset management creating opportunities to transform how content is created, managed and delivered. This role will support a major transformation initiative focused on reviewing and evolving the organisation's approach to post-production and media asset management.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Architects, Engineers, Production teams and operational stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of existing workflows and help shape the future direction of media technology.

You will be responsible for analysing current processes and tooling, identifying pain points and opportunities, and supporting the definition of future workflows, proofs of concept, pilots and target operating models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse and document current media and post-production processes, workflows and tooling.
  • Identify pain points, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce process maps, stakeholder analysis, data flows and other BA deliverables.
  • Gather, define and prioritise functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Write clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Support testing to ensure solutions meet user and business requirements.
  • Work with Product Managers and project teams to prioritise ongoing change.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency across the wider production environment.
  • Support the development of future target operating models for post-production and media asset management.
  • Explore opportunities around cloud-based workflows and AI technologies.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across technology, production and operations.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst or similar.
  • Experience working within media production, broadcast, entertainment or post-production environments.
  • Strong understanding of media asset management and post-production workflows.
  • Familiarity with video/audio ingest and transfer, transcoding, editing, delivery and archiving.
  • Strong business process analysis and requirements gathering skills.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to take complex or ambiguous information and turn it into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria, ideally using Gherkin syntax.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and prioritisation frameworks such as MoSCoW, RICE or WSJF.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
  • Experience with cloud-based media or post-production solutions.
  • Exposure to AI tools or AI integration within an existing technology environment.
  • Experience supporting transformation programmes or helping define future operating models.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of post-production and media technology within one of the UK's most recognisable broadcasters and global content businesses.
