The opportunity The Technology Operations team helps engineering functions operate effectively through reporting, governance and operational coordination. This broad-based role suits someone who can move confidently between hands-on analysis, improving processes and supporting operational resilience. You will take ownership of recurring operational and productivity reporting, respond to analytical requests from senior management and communicate the reasoning behind your findings. You will also help improve processes, maintain sound operational practices and escalate emerging concerns to the Operations Director. Key responsibilities • Own the delivery and continuous improvement of recurring operational and productivity reports. • Partner directly with senior managers to scope, analyse and explain ad hoc data requests. • Contribute to initiatives that improve operational effectiveness, including process redesign. • Oversee day-to-day operational hygiene, governance and resilience activities. • Identify emerging issues and raise them promptly with the Operations Director. • Build productive working relationships across engineering and wider technology teams. Skills and experience • Experience working across analytics, process improvement and operational coordination in a generalist capacity. • Proven ownership of analytical projects from initial problem definition through to delivery and explanation of results. • Strong technical skills, with Python and SQL cited as relevant examples. • Systems thinking: ability to connect performance metrics, workflows and governance considerations. • Confidence presenting findings, discussing assumptions and constructively challenging senior stakeholders. 1 G-RESEARCH • TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS MANAGER • Ability to structure ambiguous problems independently and decide on an appropriate analytical approach. • Practical background in business analytics or operations, ideally within a fast-paced environment. • An understanding of AI-enabled software development and good judgement about when such tools are useful.
