Software Engineer
A fast-growing European software group is building a next-generation cloud ERP platform for the trades and construction sector, live in beta with its first customers across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The engineering culture here is AI-native by design: agents do a large share of the typing, and the job is to decompose the problem, steer the tooling, and own the correctness, security and architecture of what ships under your name.
You'll join the small team building this product and own real pieces of it end to end, from concept to production. This isn't a support seat. What you ship reaches real businesses running their working day on it, and you follow it into production rather than handing it off at the door.
What you'll be doing
- Own significant, well-scoped pieces of the product end to end, from concept through to launch, with real acceptance criteria attached to your name.
- Hold the codebase to a high, maintainable standard, whether you wrote the line yourself or just reviewed it.
- Make sound architectural calls on the work in front of you, and be ready to explain the trade-offs you made.
- Deploy, operate and debug your own services in production, including under time pressure when something breaks.
- Own your service on Kubernetes (or a comparable platform): you read and change its infrastructure definitions yourself.
- Use agentic coding tools on real, complex work: decompose the task, iterate, and review what comes out for correctness, security and fit.
- Treat testing as part of finishing the job, not a separate phase: unit, integration and regression coverage as standard.
- Contribute to technical discussions and help the people around you get better.
What we're looking for
- 3 to 5 years delivering significant pieces of software end to end, with visible ownership from concept to launch.
- Real production cloud experience, not just development-environment work.
- Hands-on ownership of a service on Kubernetes or a comparable container platform.
- Genuine, hands-on use of agentic coding tools on complex work, not just casual, personal use.
- Comfortable across TypeScript and Node, React, REST APIs and a relational database, or able to become so quickly.
- Professional-level German and good English.
Nice to have
- Exposure to multitenant systems or tenant separation.
- Experience in trades, construction or a comparable vertical.
- Having worked on established software as well as new development.
- Data or analytics engineering exposure.
Location: Berlin preferred, remote considered across Germany.
