Senior Product Engineer (Robotics)
Xcede has partnered exclusively with a company that just closed a $100M Series funding round at a $1B+ valuation, building the real-time voice and video infrastructure behind the next generation of AI applications. The platform already powers the voice and agentic AI experiences of some of the most recognisable consumer and AI brands in the world, handling billions of real-time interactions every year across tens of thousands of developers. A newly-opened San Francisco team is now building out the product line that brings this technology into the physical world, powering how humans interact, by voice, with humanoids and drones.
We're hiring a Senior Product Engineer to join this team from the ground up, dedicated to the robotics product line, where our real-time voice AI becomes the interface between humans and physical machines.
In this role you will:
- Build the products that let humans interact naturally, by voice, with humanoids and drones, sitting inside the physical AI/robotics line specifically
- Design messaging, playback, and streaming systems that handle time-series data from robots operating in the real world, not just a test lab
- Work out what actually matters in a live, real-world environment, someone using a humanoid at home, versus a controlled test setup, and build for that difference
- Work directly with customers building some of the most ambitious physical AI products today, staying close enough to see what's genuinely broken and ship the fix
Who you are:
- Senior-level engineer (staff-level scope) comfortable owning ambiguous problems solo, without a large team to lean on for every question
- Full-stack, backend leans Python, front-end mostly TypeScript; a genuinely tech-agnostic team, strong C++ engineers also welcome
- A track record of proactively finding what's broken rather than waiting to be told, fixing it, shipping it, and confirming it worked with the customer
- Naturally curious, you go after the information you need rather than waiting for someone to hand it to you
- Strong engineering fundamentals, comfortable using AI to move faster without relying on it to replace real technical judgment
Nice to have:
- Prior robotics experience, no specific niche required, this isn't gated on VLM or autonomy specialism
- Founding engineer or founder background, people who've shipped directly to real customers tend to thrive here
- Voice AI exposure, rare to find but genuinely welcomed
