✏️ What you will do

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a key architect in evolving our core product. You’ll design robust backend systems and contribute to our open-source client software, directly impacting the scalability and security of our global platform.

• Lead Backend Efforts: Drive development for core systems, including management and relay services.

• End-to-End Ownership: Take a holistic approach from initial concept and coding to deployment, monitoring, and refinement.

• Collaborative Design: Work with the wider engineering team to design, test, and document components that prioritize the user experience.

• Operational Excellence: Maintain system stability through observability, incident management, and resolving complex technical escalations.

• Optimization: Continuously refine system resources for maximum efficiency and security.

🔎 What we are looking for

We thrive in a collaborative environment and are looking for an engineer who loves solving problems for customers.

Must-Haves:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Deep expertise in the architecture and design of distributed services.

• Proficiency in Go (highly preferred) or other modern backend languages.

• Solid understanding of networking principles (IP addressing, routing) and protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SSO).

• Experience with relational databases and performance tuning.

• Strong background in unit/integration testing and network performance monitoring.

• Adaptability to a fast-paced startup environment and a positive, collaborative attitude.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Hands-on experience with VPN or tunneling solutions.

• Familiarity with gRPC APIs and RESTful services.

• Experience maintaining applications scaled to millions of devices.

• Cloud environment expertise and a history of open-source contributions.
