Test Data Manager

German-speaking Test Data Engineer (GDPR, Data Privacy, Test Automation)
Location: 90% remote some on-site in Vienna
Language Requirement: German (C1+)
Role Overview We are seeking a Test Data Engineer with strong expertise in test data management, anonymization, pseudonymization, and GDPR compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring data privacy and test coverage by creating, managing, and automating high-quality test data solutions. You will collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable test data strategies.
Key Responsibilities

• Review business requirements and design documentation for accuracy, completeness, and testability.
• Manage the full test case lifecycle: creation, execution, and maintenance, with or without business/design documents.
• Drive consulting activities on test data provisioning strategies, synthetic data generation, and data masking.
• Apply test data tools and automation scripts for data anonymization and pseudonymization (e.g., EDA, Epi Use).
• Work with relational databases (SQL, Oracle, etc.) to generate and validate test data.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations in all test data activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in test data creation, provisioning, and management.
• Solid background in automated test data generation and data masking techniques.
• Strong database knowledge (SQL queries, stored procedures, data modeling).
• Proven expertise in GDPR, data privacy, and compliance frameworks.
• Previous experience as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) is a strong plus.
• German language skills (C1+) – fluent in written and spoken communication.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and integration of test data.
• Knowledge of data governance, synthetic data tools, and DevOps environments.
• Consulting experience on enterprise test data management solutions.
