Software Engineer / AI Enabler - Java or TypeScript - Munich - 130.000 EUR

Help Build the Future of AI-Accelerated Engineering

We are a leading global e-commerce platform undergoing a major transformation. As AI reshapes how great software is built, we’re creating a new group of engineers who will multiply the impact of entire teams.
This role is for hands-on software engineers who love using GenAI tools, shipping real product features, and helping an organisation become truly AI-first.
Not research.
Not modelling.
Real engineering — accelerated by AI.

What You’ll Do Build great products, faster
  • Join a product engineering team and contribute directly to customer-facing systems.
  • Work across modern stacks such as TypeScript/Node.js/Next.js or Java/Spring Boot, running on AWS/Azure/GCP.
  • Use GenAI every day to accelerate design, development, debugging, testing, documentation and operations.
Create the tools that scale AI across the organisation
  • Build and evolve AI-powered internal tools (coding assistants, review helpers, documentation agents, testing bots).
  • Integrate APIs like OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI, Claude into real products and workflows.
Act as an engineering multiplier
  • Coach teams on effective GenAI usage — what works, what doesn’t, and how to use AI safely.
  • Share patterns, anti-patterns, and best practices across the engineering organisation.
  • Help shape AI-first standards, playbooks and ways of working.
Experiment, learn, improve
  • Run small, data-informed experiments to validate new tools and workflows.
  • Measure the impact and turn successful approaches into repeatable standards.
What You Bring Deep Software Engineering Capability
  • 5 years building production systems in large, evolving codebases.
  • Strong experience with TypeScript/Node.js/Next.js or Java/Spring Boot.
  • Skilled in writing maintainable, well-tested and well-structured backend or full-stack features.
Strong Applied GenAI Experience You’ve used GenAI in real engineering work — not theory, not research:
  • Daily usage of tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codeium, Replit Agent, ChatGPT for coding.
  • Built features or internal tools using OpenAI/Anthropic/Azure OpenAI/Vertex AI.
  • Experience with LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG, tool/function calling, or AI-powered automation.
Mindset & Influence
  • Curious, growth-oriented, comfortable learning in public.
  • Strong communicator who can introduce new tools, handle scepticism, and help others level up.
  • Pragmatic: understands GenAI strengths and limitations, and knows how to apply guardrails (reviews, tests, policies).
Why Join Us?
  • A highly international engineering organisation with 50 nationalities.
  • Modern offices with collaborative spaces, social areas and flexible working environments.
  • Hybrid flexibility, relocation support, learning budgets, and a culture that encourages experimentation.
  • Real influence: your work will shape how hundreds of engineers build software.
If you want to help build AI-first engineering at scale, we’d love to speak with you.
