The Role
- Data Modelling & Transformation: Design and optimise data models for reporting, analytics, and visualisation. Use dbt to turn raw data into clean, tested, and well-documented models that underpin BI and analytics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, software engineers, and product teams to understand business needs and deliver data models that support both analytics and operations.
- Data Quality & Validation: Champion data quality by implementing testing and validation processes. Collaborate with source teams to improve upstream data reliability.
- KPI & Metric Definition: Partner with stakeholders to define and evolve KPIs that align with business goals. Ensure leadership and teams have consistent, high-quality insights.
- Reporting & Analytics: Support analysts using Power BI and help structure a single semantic layer for scalable, self-serve analytics.
- Documentation & Enablement: Keep data model documentation clear and up to date. Share knowledge and support data literacy across the business.
- 3+ years of experience in analytics, BI, or data engineering roles.
- Strong SQL skills and solid data modelling fundamentals (dbt a plus).
- Experience with cloud-based data warehouses like BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- Comfortable using the command line; Docker experience is a bonus.
- Proactive mindset with solid business acumen and excellent communication.
