A highly specialised high-tech measurement technology company is looking for a Production Engineer / Software Engineer to support the transition of complex fiber optic measurement systems from development into series production.

This role sits between software, hardware, and production, with a strong focus on test automation, calibration, and production tooling rather than classic application development.

What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting New Production Introduction (NPI) for complex optical measurement systems

  • Developing and maintaining:

    • Module and system test routines

    • Production software scripts

    • Calibration and validation routines

  • Writing and reviewing work instructions for production

  • Supporting production teams during ramp-up and start-of-production

  • Working closely with R&D, production, and quality teams

Technical environment
  • Python, C / C

  • Linux-based systems

  • Hardware-related programming

  • Digital interfaces & bus systems

  • Measurement systems & test environments

  • Close interaction with electronics and optical hardware

What they’re looking for
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar

  • Strong programming skills in Python and C/C

  • Solid understanding of hardware-near software

  • Very good Linux knowledge

  • Comfortable working in a production / engineering environment

  • German (C2) and English (C1 )

Why consider it?
  • Work on cutting-edge fiber optic sensing technology used in critical infrastructure

  • Rare mix of software hardware production

  • High learning curve and strong technical depth

  • 2-year fixed-term contract with a clear path to permanency

  • Stable company with long-term products (independent HP spin-off)

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building tools that make complex hardware reproducible at scale, rather than pure product or web development.
