A highly specialised high-tech measurement technology company is looking for a Production Engineer / Software Engineer to support the transition of complex fiber optic measurement systems from development into series production.
This role sits between software, hardware, and production, with a strong focus on test automation, calibration, and production tooling rather than classic application development.

A highly specialised high-tech measurement technology company is looking for a Production Engineer / Software Engineer to support the transition of complex fiber optic measurement systems from development into series production.
This role sits between software, hardware, and production, with a strong focus on test automation, calibration, and production tooling rather than classic application development.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting New Production Introduction (NPI) for complex optical measurement systems
- Developing and maintaining:
- Module and system test routines
- Production software scripts
- Calibration and validation routines
- Module and system test routines
- Writing and reviewing work instructions for production
- Supporting production teams during ramp-up and start-of-production
- Working closely with R&D, production, and quality teams
- Python, C / C
- Linux-based systems
- Hardware-related programming
- Digital interfaces & bus systems
- Measurement systems & test environments
- Close interaction with electronics and optical hardware
- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar
- Strong programming skills in Python and C/C
- Solid understanding of hardware-near software
- Very good Linux knowledge
- Comfortable working in a production / engineering environment
- German (C2) and English (C1 )
- Work on cutting-edge fiber optic sensing technology used in critical infrastructure
- Rare mix of software hardware production
- High learning curve and strong technical depth
- 2-year fixed-term contract with a clear path to permanency
- Stable company with long-term products (independent HP spin-off)
