Junior Data Engineer - Up to £45,000 Bonus

The Opportunity An established private equity investor is continuing to build out its data capability to better support investment decisions across EMEA. As part of this growth, the firm is hiring a Junior Data Engineer to help strengthen and scale its cloud based data platform.
You will join a high performing Research and Technology team that works directly with investment professionals. The team is responsible for transforming fragmented internal and market data into structured, decision ready intelligence that informs deal activity, portfolio strategy and capital deployment.
This role would suit someone early in their data engineering career who enjoys building scalable solutions, automating processes and working closely with commercial stakeholders in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Designing and maintaining data pipelines that ingest and consolidate data from internal systems and third party providers
- Automating manual workflows and improving infrastructure scalability and reliability
- Supporting the migration of legacy spreadsheet driven processes into a structured cloud environment
- Building and optimising ETL processes using AWS and SQL technologies
- Developing dashboards and analytical tools to surface insights across operational performance and fund deployment
- Implementing data validation and governance processes to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Working closely with investment, finance and asset management teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
- 1 to 3 years experience in data engineering or a similar technical role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Exposure to AWS and modern data warehousing concepts such as Snowflake
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau is advantageous
- Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline
- Structured thinker with excellent attention to detail
- Self starter who is comfortable working in a high expectation environment
