C# / .NET Developer Contract – 3–6 Months (Inside IR35)

Overview: We are seeking an experienced C#/.NET Developer to join a high-performing delivery team working on business-critical systems within a major UK energy trading environment.
This role sits within a globally recognised Microsoft-focused consultancy delivering into a large-scale trading and commodities platform. You will be contributing to the design, build, and optimisation of high-availability backend services supporting fast-paced trading operations.

This is a hands-on backend engineering role within a modern Azure-based microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using C# and .NET
  • Build and enhance microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Develop cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Service Bus)
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and performance-optimised
  • Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams across distributed stakeholders
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making
  • Support production releases and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Experience
  • 5 years’ experience in C#/.NET backend development
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Service Bus)
  • CI/CD pipeline experience using Azure DevOps
  • Strong knowledge of performance optimisation and secure coding practices
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery models
Desirable
  • Experience within trading, commodities, or financial services environments
  • Exposure to high-throughput, low-latency systems
  • Experience working in regulated or enterprise-scale environments
Environment
  • Fast-paced, delivery-focused trading domain
  • Hybrid working (minimum three days per week in Central London)
  • High visibility programme within a large-scale, business-critical platform
