RF Planner & Optimisation Engineer is required by a leading technology consultancy to assist in the delivery of an RF and Wireless project at a leading financial services organisation.

The role requires experience of:
  • Network Design & Planning: Develop comprehensive RF network plans to achieve optimal coverage, capacity, and quality across various wireless technologies. Utilize RF planning tools like Atoll, Planet, and NetAct for site selection, frequency planning, and interference analysis
  • Coverage & Capacity Analysis: Perform detailed RF propagation modeling and prediction for system planning. Analyze and interpret RF data to create actionable insights for network optimization.
  • Site Surveys & Audits: Conduct site surveys to assess and enhance network performance. Perform TSSR surveys and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Optimization & Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, identify issues such as low coverage areas or high interference, and implement solutions to enhance user experience and network efficiency.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure network plans comply with local and international regulations and standards. Prepare and submit necessary documentation to regulatory authorities.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports outlining RF planning strategies, designs, and optimization recommendations. Generate RF engineering-related reports as required
Qualifications & Skills
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. A Master's degree in RF Engineering or related specialization is preferred.
  • Experience: Typically 5–10 years of experience in RF planning and optimization. Experience with mobile network operators, equipment vendors, or consulting firms is advantageous.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of wireless network design principles and tools. Proficiency in RF planning software such as Atoll, Planet, or iBwave. Familiarity with 2G/3G/4G/5G network technologies and protocols.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze and interpret RF data for network optimization.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and present technical findings to stakeholders.
  • Certifications: Industry certifications such as Certified RF Engineer (CRFE), RF Engineering Certification, or Wireless Communications Engineering Technologies (WCET) are advantageous.
This is a 6 month outside IR35 contract with scope to renew for c.24 months. Only applicants from within the UK (or with the ability to work in the UK) will be considered.
