Building the future of online travel, my client are the arm between searching for a holiday and then actually booking it. They match customers with the best deals to where they want to travel.

Job Purpose
Shape and mentor the Data Science team and communicate with the wider business to deliver projects.

Essential Skills:
●Degree in maths, science, engineering or computer science or another related technical or numerical discipline.
●Proven ability in the application of data science and machine learning to commercial problems.
●Programming languages - Python, R, Java, C, C++
●Open-source machine learning libraries.
●SQL
●Ability to explain complex solutions to the business

Desirable Skills:
●GCP
●Bayesian statistics
●Building production-grade machine learning models
●Experience with advanced analytical techniques for time series data
●Knowledge of eCommerce/travel websites.
●Mentoring juniors.
●MVT, A/B testing techniques and analysis

Key result area:
●Responsibility for the full project flow, from identifying machine learning opportunities at conception, through to delivery and production:
oResearching, model prototyping, offline validation.
oImplementing production pipelines
oCoordinating A/B testing where appropriate
●Acting as the SME for all data science applications.
●Ensuring the team delivers projects at high velocity and quality
●Finding new and innovative ways and solutions to shorten any process
●Ensuring the best practice is always shared and followed across the team.
●Prioritising workload to ensure that expectations of internal stakeholders are met
●Ensuring that analytic resources are focused on the most valuable actions
●Stakeholder engagement
●Reporting to the Head of Data Science
