Senior Data Engineer


Xcede's Data Science & Data Engineering recruitment team are working with one of Europe's hottest start-ups who have an usually large amount of funding behind them, leading to a level of job security and benefits/perks typically unheard within start-ups (read on for more info).


With a Founder who has successfully built and sold a number of household name businesses, this company has a clear blueprint for success over the next 5 years.

They're disrupting a specific area of the e-commerce world by making the purchasing process simple, easy, and clean. By putting the customer first and owning their product outright throughout the transaction process to ensure quality, the company is setting out to do things differently to anyone else in the industry.


They have put together an incredibly strong leadership team (CEO, COO, CTO, CDO have all joined the business from market-leading organisations), and their Head of Data Engineering is no different. Having worked on building batch and stream data pipelines for a number of extremely data-rich organisation, they are now looking for a Senior Data Engineer & a Data Engineer to join them building this data solution out from scratch.


As a Data Engineer, you will work on the development of data pipelines and the data lake itself. Your stakeholders will be everyone from Analysts & Scientists through to more purely commercial teams.


Requirements


1-3 years commercial experience working on commercial Data Engineering solutions.
Proficiency in Python, alongside Java / Scala / Golang as a nice bonus!
AWS experience (GCP experience fine too - we'll consider Azure work)
Experience using ETL frameworks (Airflow, AWS Glue, etc.)
Cloud Warehouse experience (Redshift, BigQuery, etc.)
Good software engineering practice;
CI/CD with Jenkins, etc.
Version control (github or gitlab)
TTD approach to work.

Desired

BSc /MSc Engineering in Computer Science / Engineering or similar would be great, but not essential.
