This disruptive FinTech start-up has a phenomenal opportunity for a talented Research Scientist to delve into the huge amount of financial transactions and account data they process. They are focusing on a blend of traditional metrics and untapped financial behaviour to provide alternative credit scoring methods and need talented researchers to question, understand and experiment on their data.

The Research Scientist Role

Coming in as a Research Scientist, you will have a stellar opportunity to develop your research skills in a hands-on, fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:
*Researching financial patterns based around debt, income and risk analytics and the affect that have on consumers
*Producing datasets and metrics that allow ongoing evaluation
*Experimenting and testing hypotheses
*Explaining complex topics and findings in plain English
*Working closely with the CTO and product team to bring research into production
*Potentially publishing any findings

The Successful Research Scientist

If you are currently in a research-oriented Machine Learning position or if you have recently graduated from a PhD focused on statistics / data science / machine learning / NLP, this could be a fantastic next step for you in your career within an exciting tech startup set to grow rapidly over the coming months and years.

Desired Skills and Background of the Research Scientist:
*PhD background in Machine Learning / Statistics / Mathematics / Data Science
*Ideally experience working with large datasets, even better with financial data or transaction data
*Expertise in Python and main ML libraries (Tensorflow, Keras, Scikit-learn)
*Exposure to Google Cloud Platform
