QA Engineer

Job Description

We have a current opportunity for a QA Engineer on a contract basis. The position will be based in London. For further information about this position please apply ideally with the skillset below.

Summary of Role
As a Senior Quality Engineer in the Quality Assurance team, you will have a passion for building robust, reliable, repeatable software testing solutions. You will use your expertise to enable the delivering of high quality systems, working alongside a team of developers, QA engineers, product managers and platform engineers (DevOps). You will proactively drive the evolution of our testing practices with a focus on modern approaches to software delivery, You'll be an integral part of the overarching product delivery process and be working directly with our engineers to deliver innovative, best in class software for our customers in a streamlined fashion.

Key Responsibilities
*Contribute towards and widely communicate the overarching QA strategy
*Significantly contribute to the definition and delivery of tools / technology as needed, to meet
software quality challenges
*Demonstrable experience of creating extendable repeatable (automated) testing solutions
*Apply proven experience of automation solutions that can be maintained, supported and
extended by the team
*As well as helping to assure the quality of the code, you will also use your advanced analytical
skills to drive improvements in the quality & accuracy of the data that is produced by the team.
*Identifying user scenarios, establishing quality criteria and building test automation solutions
that will allow complex testing to be performed against software produced
*Strong understanding of when to use different levels of testing (eg integration, end-to-end and
closed data set testing)
*Use your tried-and-tested ability to build service-layer-based solutions (e.g. RESTful API
XML/JSON, mocking of 3rd party services, etc) to expand our contract-level testing capacity
*Build/maintain excellent working relationships between QA and all other teams
*Apply proven experience of working within frameworks (eg Cucumber, Fitnesse, etc)
*Strong exposure to working in - and contributing to - an Agile development environment
*Have a strong understanding of web technologies particularly those used for client-side
development (eg. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, etc)
