Programme Manager - Global logistics Company

Job Description

Global multi-national Fortune 500 logistics company requires experienced Project / Programme Manager to join an expanding Project execution function based in the Southeast of England.

Essential skills: demonstrable track record of programme delivery within large and complex technology organisations; strong understanding of the software delivery lifecycle; Agile and Waterfall delivery experience; strong experience within resource demand planning; experience driving best practice across an organisation which is immature in technology project execution.

Desirable experience: skills and experience in setting-up and building a Project Manager bench and / or PMO function; Agile coach or similar accreditation; PRINCE2 accreditation

My client is a global logistics major, but it lacks technology programme maturity within its UK business and as a result this is the next major hire into this new PMO function. The role will report into the Director of Programme Delivery and will take responsibility for a number of key strategic projects in the current book of work. Examples will include:

  • Delivery of a new in-house built platform that looks at warehouse and manpower productivity
  • Integration of new business that has been acquired through M&A
  • Customer implementations of significant scale and complexity

The long-term prospects for the role are also significant, with the next phase of the role to help build out the wider PMO and build a project management bench that will help to deliver across an ever-expanding portfolio of work driven by huge customer demand.

My client is looking for candidates who have a varied industry sector experience such as supply chain, retail and logistics, but this is not an exhaustive list. If you are seasoned programme manager with a wealth of technology delivery experience and have a huge amount of drive and passion in project execution, coupled with a mindset that is open to new ideas and creative ways of working, then this could be an interesting opportunity.

This will be a hybrid working role, with minimal office time needed in this position.
