Xcede's Data Science recruitment team have partnered with a really exciting travel publication / app company who have received a hefty Series B funding round as they continue to expand their core Data team. We've been tasked with finding an expert data focused Software Engineer - someone who wants to help work on their data pipelines and algorithmic productionisation (e.g. anything that the scientists aren't working on, but need to ensure their work makes an impact)!
The chosen candidate will most likely have worked on algorithmic productionisation in close communication with their current data science colleagues, and data pipelining work with their data engineering co-workers (ideally from a variety of sources and a variety of forms including text, video, etc.).
The Data Science team predominantly write everything in Python, but it's worth noting that a lot of the Tech team use Java. We'd love someone comfortable with both, but Python is the priority.
*Moving data pipelines between platform and data science
*Building databases to store data for data science and facilitating access by other team members
*Converting prototyped code into production code
*Deploying code using Kubernetes and Helm
*Building APIs for an application to use a model
*Building the infrastructure to train and deploy AI models at scale using AWS
*Maintaining data science software infrastructure
*Writing unit and functional tests for data science software
(and what you will not be doing!)
*Working on the initial prototypes of algorithms / statistical modelling
