My client are seeking an interim Legal Counsel who will be responsible for providing advice on a broad range of technology services transactions.

The candidate must speak English fluently and be able to negotiate contracts in English. Language skills in other European languages are an advantage.

The area of legal coverage will be the UK with some European support required.

Essential Skill Set:
*Strong legal and drafting skills in the commercial and IT/IP field
*Solid and demonstrable experience of drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of IT service agreements e.g. IT consulting agreements, managed services agreements, framework agreements, work orders, licences, alliance agreements, support and maintenance contracts, subcontractor arrangements, extension letters, NDAs and other legal documents as required
*Experience of providing legal advice to senior and mid-level executives throughout the company
*Previous experience of working in a fast paced sales environment.

Desirable Skill Set:
*Ability to review and identify risks in proposal documentation and provide advice on how risks can be managed contractually (through indemnities, warranties, exclusion of liability clauses, etc)
*Ability to assist with regulatory issues (e.g. data protection, Sarbanes Oxley Act) including assisting and advising the business on complying with its obligations
*Confidence to provide support and advice to other internal business units within Avanade (HR, marketing, finance) as required
*Ability to support the training programme by assisting in the preparation, planning and delivery of training to both legal department members and other Avanade business units
*Desire to actively contribute to, and participate in, the EALA legal team and share in the general responsibilities of the legal department.

Professional Background (Education & Qualifications)
*7-10 years PQE
*Strong academic background
*Material transactional experience in the technology sector
*Experience of working in the in-house legal department of a technology focussed business
*Experience of working in a law firm environment
*Good IT skills specifically knowledge of Microsoft products, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
