This disruptive product-focused company is developing software for railway networks, ultimately to reduce traffic and congestions, and they're looking for a Data Scientist to join the existing team of three. As part of the role, you'll have the opportunity to make a big impact on end users, both through their existing product that predicts failures in signal networks, as well as their newest forecasting software that predicts and optimises the state of railways across the country.
The Data Scientist Role
Coming in as a Data Scientist, you will have a stellar opportunity to develop your technical skills in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Leveraging both historical and real-time travel data to predict signalling failures
Producing reliable data-driven models to improve the performance and efficiency of railway networks
Collaborating closely with the Data Science & Engineering team to design, develop and productionise models
Liaise with stakeholders to relate actionable insights and convince of improvements to current systems
The Successful Data Scientist
If you've come from a STEM academic background, coupled with at least two years of commercial experience as a Data Scientist, where you've been able to see the true business value of the models you've been building, this could be a fantastic next step for you in your career within a booming software company.
Desired Skills and Background of the Data Scientist:
Solid commercial experience as a Data Scientist
Good coding experience in Python and the typical ML stack
Business acumen, commercial mindset
MSc / BSc in a STEM subject
If successful, you will be offered a highly competitive salary paying between Â£50,000 and Â£70,000 dependent on your breadth of experience.
