The Data Scientist Role

Coming in as a Data Scientist, you will have a stellar opportunity to develop your technical skills in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Translating complex business problems into the appropriate data problem
Getting to grips with the company's data sources and their quality and structure
Liaising closely with the engineering and architecture teams to support large scale data preparation, the optimisation of analytical platforms, the industrialisation of analytical methods
Contributing to the data science code repository, testing new tools
Building (and deploying) data science algorithms
Keeping abreast of the latest advances within data science & analytics and your given field of expertise

The Successful Data Scientist

If you come from a PhD background in either a STEM subject or maths/engineering, coupled with a solid coding knowledge and perhaps existing experience as a Data Scientist, this could be a fantastic next step for you in your career within the world's leading biopharmaceutical giant.

Desired Skills and Background of the Data Scientist:
Solid coding experience, either in Python or R
PhD background in either STEM or maths/engineering
Fundamental mathematical understanding
(Depending on the team), experience productionising ML models
