Data Science Engineer

Xcede's Data Science & Data Engineering recruitment team are working with a fascinating organisation who are using blockchain technology for a commercially viable and uniquely useful purpose (unlike many others out there right now!)

The company is a 40 person spinout funded by one of the world's largest mining companies. The core product offering is transparency in an industry that has been dogged by issues such as fraudulent sales activity and 'black market' trading. My client's core purpose is to eradicate these issues with advanced Machine Learning work.

As a result of their continued growth plans, the company are looking for a Python led Data Science Engineer to join their team and work alongside their talented unit of Data Scientists and Software Engineers.

Your role would be to help productionise / deploy the Data Science capabilities that the advanced Machine Learning squad create - the team has a history of working on reinforcement learning & deep learning (LSTM) led solutions for example.

You'll also be responsible for working with the Scientists and other Software Engineers in designing, developing and deploying a robust data platform for further future experimentation.

Requirements

- 1-3 years commercial experience working on commercial Data Engineering solutions.
- Proficiency in Python, alongside one of Java / Scala / Golang as a nice bonus!
- A good familiarity of machine learning & data science methods
- A strong background in software & data architecture
- Familiarity with container technology ( Docker , etc. )
- Experience with Git
- Knowledge of distributed systems, and databases is a strong preference
- Good software engineering practice;
CI/CD with Jenkins, etc.
Version control (github or gitlab)
- TTD approach to work.

Desired

BSc /MSc Engineering in Computer Science / Engineering or similar would be great, but not essential.

Benefits;

Impressive bonus (circa 20%!)
