£30000 - £70000 per annum
Your role would be to work as a Data Engineer partnered with a small but growing team of Data Scientists to work on the evolution and expanding the remit of the company's brand-new software solution making waves throughout Britain's railway network. This solution could be comparable to Google Maps traffic rerouting function but applied to railways to alleviate delays.
Initially, this system would be implementing forecasting models based on legacy train movement data over the past 5+ years to determine probable errors or issues within the network with a view to expand the data sets to include everything from crew timetables, weather, events (Football/Concerts) and potentially even going as far as mobile signal data to determine how many people are on a platform at any given time.
As you might be able to tell from the description above, this project is in the early greenfield stage with only one railway line currently trialing the product with huge successes. So, you would have a real opportunity to sink your teeth into something that could add gigantic value to your CV.
-Handling the entire cloud infrastructure (this is hosted on AWS - Amazon Web Services) for the team. Working alongside the Data Scientists to make sure the models are run successfully.
-Designing, Developing and implementing the ETL processes and Data Pipelines for the team.
-Working alongside the team of Data Scientists, Insight Analysts to approach problems together and solve them together. This wouldn't be a position someone that isn't a team player.
-Strong commercial experience designing, developing and implementing data pipelines and ETL solutions.
-Strong commercial experience with AWS as a cloud solution.
-Experience of machine learning platforms, pipelines, and techniques.
-Good commercial experience with Python
