Job Role: Control Systems Engineer
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £35,000 - £55,000 pa plus pension & benefits
As a Control Systems Engineer your remit will include:
You will be involved in all aspects of projects from the initial requirements' gathering, proposal production and the solution specification through to the design, development and installation of the solution. You will be required to visit client sites both to determine their needs and develop the solution, and to set the solution to work, thereby seeing the project through to final real-world implementation.
The work will be varied and every project a new and exciting opportunity to use and develop different skills, both at a technical level and at a softer project execution interpersonal level.
Applicants must be capable of managing project execution on a day-to-day basis, monitoring and mentoring team members and ensuring that these less experienced engineers are also developed technically and with the softer skills that will allow them to develop into better engineers
What you will bring to the company:
Knowledge or understanding of mainstream PLC / SCADA is required having a good knowledge of at least one PLC and one SCADA system with sufficient practical experience to be able to work with other types of systems as dictated by project requirements. They are currently looking for people with experience in some of the following: -
- Siemens S7/300
- Siemens S7/400
- Siemens PCS7
- Siemens WinCC
- Allen Bradley Control Logix
- Allen Bradley SLC
- Rockwell Factory Talk View (all versions)
Excellent communication skills are essential for these roles, both orally and written English, on technical and non-technical issues. Applicants must be able to develop solutions to meet client's requirements and write the solution into winning proposals. You must also be capable of writing project documentation such as design specifications and test specifications and be able to review and comment on documents produced by junior engineers.
Other skills that would be useful include knowledge of DCS systems such as Emerson DeltaV, ABB System 800xa, Allen Bradley ProcessLogix, Honeywell Plantscape / Experion. An understanding of instrumentation signals and the ability to fault find on I/O subsystems and I/O subsystems that use buses such as Profibus, ProfiNet, DeviceNet / ControlNet and EtherNet would be advantageous. Knowledge of the IEC61508, 21CFR11, IEC61131, EN54, S88 standards would be beneficial but training will be provided where appropriate.
What they promise to offer:
Salary Will be dependent on experience and level of post but between 35k - 54k.

Holidays start at 20 days in first year rising to 22 then 25 days in subsequent years; additional holidays are awarded for long service.
Holiday allowance can be negotiable but will not exceed 25 days
Enrolment into Pension after 3 months and health care are available after 12 months' service.
