Business Development Manager

We are recruiting for our client a full time Business Development Manager based in their office in Haslingden and covering the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with experience in technical sales who's looking for the next step up in their career. The right candidate will be able to grow this role and develop it towards a Senior Management position.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will have sales experience as well as a background in electrical controls and/or system integration.

The Business Development Manager's duties will include:

  • Understanding the clients products/services, and its position within the industry
  • Maintaining and developing excellent levels of business with existing customers
  • Researching new customers and contacts to find new opportunities
  • Establishing contact with potential new clients to arrange meetings
  • Pitching sales to new and existing customers
  • Collaboration with design and manufacturing teams to ensure requirements are met
  • Organising marketing initiatives, attending conferences, meetings and industry events
  • Developing strategies, goals and forecasts for business development and ensuring that they are met
  • Keeping accurate records of customer contact activities and feedback on business potential

To be suitable for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Recent and demonstrable experience of successful project-based sales
  • A background in a relevant technical field e.g. electrical control, process, systems
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Good organisational skills, excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  • Fluent in English
  • Full UK driving licence
