Location: Knutsford. 5 days a week onsite.
My client in Knutsford is looking for 3 Configuration Analyst's for an initial 6 month contract that is likely to extend up to 12 months.
The role will be to act as the primary interface for all aspects of Configuration Management related to the decommissioning of infrastructure (Configuration Items/CIs) that supports legacy applications that are being retired.
1.Ensure the target infrastructure CI is ready for decommissioning. This will by 'measuring' the CI against a number of pre-defined criteria, e.g.
a.Appropriate access to the asset
c.Active Directory dependencies
2.Baseline the asset in the Configuration Management tool (ServiceNow/ServiceFirst)
a.Is the Service view complete/correct
b.Is the Service view understood, what are the upstream and downstream CI's, what dependencies/conflicts exist
c.Work with SMEs to fill any gaps
3.Manage the decommissioning process
b.Identify if/what SMEs need to be engaged
c.Work with the Projects/decommissioning teams to identify and track the decommissioning progress
d.Maintain the CI data/status within the Configuration Management database throughout the process
*A good understanding of Service views/maps; what upstream/downstream Cis make up the Service, the impact on the overall service if any CI is changed/removed (Networks, Databases, Backup, Monitoring etc., etc.)
*Good project Management skills (junior PM level), with Infrastructure Management and Service Management experience
*Good communication skills
*Works in an organised and structured manner
*Comfortable with building and presenting MI data/reports related to the decommissioning & configuration management
